I’m currently in the midst of organising my biggest workshop-style event to date: a ’shooting experience’ taking place at MC Motors in Hackney, East London, next weekend. This event, unlike a typical workshop, is purely devoted to shooting 5 fully-styled models all day long in the wonderful quirky location, with 10 photographer participants. (See my original blog post with full info on the event).
Here’s the creative people we have on board. Click through to see their various webpages and portfolios.
It’s been a monster job gathering the creative team, and we’ve had about 300 models interested! We’re in the process of preparing the necessary set-ups, lighting and props at the location. We’ll be using constant lighting and LitePanels from our sponsor Photoflex, along with a flash set-up, and 2 ‘roaming’ setups to make use of the fantastic natural light in the MC Motors building. There’s also numerous, still functioning old lamps that we can use as a form of quirky continuous light/props in the pictures (see montage above).
We have had a fantastic response from photographers and we have 2 people flying in from overseas for the shoot – one from Montreal! That said, we still need more participants.
There are 4 spaces left (1 on Sat 12th, and 3 on Sun 13th) so email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to join us. The cost of the day is £325 which includes everything involved in the shoot: the location, the models, the styling – even lovely brioches and croissants – but more importantly, full release rights to all images you take on the day.
We’ve spent a while meticulously devising the itinerary so that everyone gets chance to shoot every model and every set-up, with a focus on individual direction more than group ‘paparazzi-style’ shooting. We’ve structured it so you get time to have breaks & review your images – to keep both your energy and inspiration revitalised. You’ll even get 2 Photoshop tutorials from me afterwards, where I process images from the same shoot, to make sure you get the best from your images and to fuel your post-production imagination.
Email email@example.com and Matt or myself will answer any other questions you have regarding the shoot, plus we can help with travel or accommodation queries for those flying in.
I am now just preparing workshop info packs for all those on board already, so join us!
